Ilse-Marie Erl is a well-established contemporary jewellery maker from Tāmaki Makaurau. She has been making jewellery for the last 25 years and over this time has exhibited in many of the leading galleries in Aotearoa and internationally.

Marie is drawn to the sensual qualities of pure precious metals and to skin-like surface textures. Predominantly working in pure silver, she typically produces limited editions of a design and develops her ideas intuitively in response to materials and making processes.

Working in series also allows her to offer variations and choices, for example, the same form might come in silver, black (oxidised) and gold (22karat gold plate).
