Carmen Burgi
Tāhuna Queenstown
Carmen uses semi precious stones and pearls in her works which she uses to convey a sense of organic beauty or bejewelled 'beneath the sea'.
'Sometimes the ideas come to me fully formed, in that moment of stillness between wakefulness and slumber. Organic form has always interested me, the perfection of imperfection. The natural world is the master of design. Fragments of scenes form my ideas, they evolve and revolve, becoming not so much a design, but a feeling.'
