Opening night:
Friday 30th May, 5pm – 7pm
This series is an exploration of my rural surroundings, infused with the textures, lines, and colours of summer. Working intuitively with mixed media—acrylic, inks, and collaged wallpaper—I allow each piece to unfold organically, layering gestural marks and loose lines that convey movement and energy. Earthy tones dominate the palette, with accents of colour to evoke the warmth and vibrancy of the season.
These paintings are also a form of noticing—a way of slowing down and attuning to the quiet choreography of light, wind, and growth that unfolds around me. They reflect not only what I see, but how I feel in these spaces, holding a sense of both immediacy and reflection. Through the act of making, I return to the landscape again and again to inhabit it more fully.
Some works suggest places near my studio such as the garden, while others capture the layered depth of the land itself. Across the series, texture plays a central role, inviting a tactile experience. These works mark a deepening of my practice, embracing collage and drawing as tools for expression, while capturing the essence of place and the shifting rhythms of nature.
