Opening night:
Friday 7th February, 5pm – 7pm
‘Meadow’ explores the wildflowers of the urban landscape, which are popping up throughout the parks of Harriet Millar’s home city, Ōtautahi.
Immersing herself in the wild flora, alongside her children and dogs, Millar finds joy and warmth amongst the flowers and aims to bring this feeling to life through her paintings.
With each flower being different to the next in shape, colour, and texture, Millar hopes to show the individual beauty of each bloom and convey the fun she has in committing them to the canvas.
Hugely inspired by the magic of New Zealand landscape, the artist’s interpretations involve substantial layering of paint with thick loose brushstrokes and hints of unexpected colour.
